Hollow Truths - Book 1 of The Hood Series
Marc Hood doesn’t want to work for the FBI. He is the ‘good son’ by going to college and then on to medical school, just like his father. Within weeks, Marc’s college friend turns him into a criminal by teaching him the tricks to hacking. The FBI catches Marc and gives him an ultimatum: put in time at a federal prison or serve with the FBI. Marc chooses the FBI and drops out of school. With every successful mission, he can buy back his freedom. But, the FBI doesn’t want him to succeed. As the book opens, Marc has been removed from a mission with the Hostage Rescue Team in Iraq and has been put into another that does not look promising either. US Treasury funds are missing and it is Marc’s responsibility deceive the Secret Service and act as one of their agents to find where the money is going. Sifting through layers of deceit, he follows a maze of corruption that goes far deeper than the Mujahedeen control of the Secret Service director. Marc discovers other moles within the secret service, one of whom acts as an ally and another who tries to kill them both. It’s enough to make Marc think that his freedom is far too expensive.
